Octomore 15.X review

Writer's picture: S&PS&P

Good afternoon good people,

See below my thoughts on this year’s Octomore release. TL;DR this year’s release is relatively weaker than most, with the only standout being the 15.1 (which I still wouldn’t recommend for the cost). The 15.2 isn’t a standout in taste but it is in uniqueness. This doesn’t mean Octomores aren’t awesome btw. Just compared to the 12s or the 8s this is on the low end.

Octomore 15.1 59.1%

👃🏻 burnt smoked nuts/almonds. Salty. Charred wood. Lemon spray

👅 nice body, silkier/thicker and sweeter than most .1s. Vanilla/honey, salty, almond skin. Toasted oak. This is an awesome .1. Way sweeter than other years and thicker instead of the usual punchy/thin. 91.

Octomore 15.2 57.9%

👃🏻 old furniture, almond skin. Old lemons. Some kind of fragrance. Hard to pinpoint

👅 this is really cool. The cognac turns this into a eau de cologne. Its really hard to pinpoint the exact name but its like woody notes, nutty notes, perfumy notes. Little salty and lemony but that nutty/woody perfumy fragrance is really the star of the show. I dont love love it but its super cool and unique. Highly recommend trying this. 87.

Octomore 15.3 61.3%

👃🏻 salty barley. Bruised lemons. Lovely oak note.

👅 bruised lemon, salty barley fields, little gasoline ish note, savory/sweet ish note. So this is still very good but its on the low end of .3 series. They’re usually better. 89.

Cheers everyone!
