Hey everyone!
See below my thoughts on this year’s Octomore release. TL;DR nothing particularly exciting, unless you like really oddball stuff. Solid .1 and .3.
Octomore 14.1 59.6%
👃🏻 salty hay. Dry citrus. Dry grass. Pretty classic .1 nose. Theres a little mezcal-like sea funk unagi note that comes out after a while. Also a little sweet note.
👅 mmm very savory. Salty lemons. Thin but punchy. Dry grass. Yea very nice .1 series. Nothing too out of the ordinary. 91.
Octomore 14.2 57.7%
👃🏻 salty wet rotten oak. Pot pourri. Dried orange rind. Dried apricot.
👅 like eating wet rotten wood. Sea water. Pot pourri. This is pretty bad actually. But i like it. 83.
There’s another .2 release that reminds me of this. Ah, turns out its 13.2, which I scored the exact same and said the exact same thing about haha. Likely the same oloroso casks.
For reference I’ve reviewed 27 Octomore releases with average score 91.4
Octomore 14.3 61.4%
👃🏻 loads of dry hay and honey lozenges. Big ricola note. Love .3s
👅 hmm love .3. Perfect heat, ricola, dried hay, thick feel, salted meats.
Yea nothing fancy here just a wonderfully done .3. 93.
Cheers!
